"I designed a PCB for Solar Energy Harvesting"
New opportunities in addition to scientific articles but also the addition of influencers-engineers in the world of energy harvesting.
Hello to all,
We have decided to add some articles to expose the opportunities in the field of energy harvesting.
But also the work of engineers/influencers in the tech world. We think they can contribute a lot. And it's a pleasure for us to give them this visibility because of the content they propose.
We wish you a very good reading,
See you soon,

Design considerations for photovoltaic energy harvesting in wearable devices Wearable technology is emerging as a solution for various bio-mechanic and health-metric applications. Solar photovoltaic energy is a viable supplemental power source that can reduce battery size requirements in wearables. This study outlines the considerations for a wearable sleeve device and its associated power converter system using commercially-available flexible photovoltaic panels located on the forearm. Scientists develop inexpensive device that can harvest energy from a light breeze and store it as electricity. When exposed to winds with a velocity as low as two metres per second (m/s), the device can produce a voltage of three volts and generate electricity power of up to 290 microwatts, which is sufficient to power a commercial sensor device and for it to also send the data to a mobile phone or a computer.
The light and durable device, called a wind harvester, also diverts any electricity that is not in use to a battery, where it can be stored to power devices in the absence of wind. Read more…
Intramolecular charge-transfer enhances energy transfer efficiency in carotenoid-reconstituted light-harvesting 1 complex of purple photosynthetic bacteria. In bacterial photosynthesis, the excitation energy transfer (EET) from carotenoids to bacteriochlorophyll a has a significant impact on the overall efficiency of the primary photosynthetic process. This efficiency can be enhanced when the involved carotenoid has intramolecular charge-transfer (ICT) character, as found in light-harvesting systems of marine alga and diatoms. Read more…
Electromechanics: Key components for industry and the automotive sector. Electromechanical components are indispensable for a variety of applications in nearly all branches of industry. The sub-area of electrical engineering covers an enormous range of components, from relays and actuators to switches and connection systems to housing technology. At electronica 2022, leading companies from the industry will present the entire spectrum of electromechanics in Halls A2, B2 and B3. On November 16, 2022, the Electrical Connectors Forum will revolve around the Single Pair Ethernet (SPE). Read more…

I designed a PCB for Solar Energy Harvesting | assembly & tests - Salvatore Raccardi
A couple months ago I showed you how I developed my Solar-powered weather station. I decided to improve it by using an ultra-low power energy harvester instead of a simple LDO with a battery manager. In this video, I'll show you how I developed this simple board to study the efficiency of the energy harvester and the load connected(nRF52840 custom board).
ENERGY HARVESTING EXAMPLE WITH WINDTURER WIND TURBINE
This video shows how to use the Windturer to capture the energy of the wind, even at a very low height from the ground. The wind speed that day was not very high, however Windturer was able to take advantage of the light breeze. This video is integrated into my Portable Wind Turbine project on Hackaday.io

November, 15-16 : Energy Transition Europe 2022. The ongoing energy transition poses existential challenges to the European energy industry. Climate action continues to gather speed across Europe, but key questions remain.
What will the European post-transition industrial economy look like? How will rising geopolitical tension across Europe hinder – or accelerate – the transition to renewables and the grids of the future? The entire energy ecosystem is being rebuilt from the ground up, and whilst the transition will affect all sectors of European business, impactful action must start with energy stakeholders.
